HikeAlong is one person: me, out at sunrise most weekends, and then the evenings it takes to turn a morning into a page. 169 mornings are in the log since 2024, each with its track, its sky and its photographs, and the trail reviews are written from them.
All of it is free to read and stays that way: no paywall, no members' area, nothing held back for the people who tip. If a review got you to a trail, or the wake-up calculator got you out the door in time, a tip is a way to say so. It goes toward the site and the walks.
How a Tip Works
The buttons open Fourthwall's tip page on checkout.hikealongtours.com, the same checkout the shop uses. You pay there, and you can leave a name and a message, which come to me with the tip. Fourthwall takes no cut of a tip; the card processor keeps its usual fee. A tip is a gift to me, not a donation to a charity, so it is not tax deductible. Nothing about a tip is published or kept on this site, as the privacy page says.
Other Ways to Help
A shirt from the shop pays for the site too, and so does gear bought through the links on the gear page: Amazon pays me a small commission, and the price is the same for you. Sending a trail review to a friend who walks helps as much as anything.
